North Tyneside Community Coach Appointment

Northumberland Cricket Board and North Tyneside School Sport Partnership are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Community Coach based in North Tyneside.

Daniel Shurben crosses the water from South Shields to take up the role, delivering cricket coaching in schools and supporting local clubs.

Delivery will include Chance to Shine and Extending Activities, providing children the opportunity to access quality coaching and competition with pathways to community clubs.

Groundstaff Association Trailer Hire

Northumberland Groundstaff Association trailer hire is now available to clubs who:

1. Are affiliated to Northumberland Cricket Board
2. Have qualified IOG groundstaff
3. Complete the booking form (available via link)

Housed at Tynemouth Cricket Club and Alnmouth & Lesbury Cricket Club, the trailers will provide clubs the opportunity to carry out end of season work.

The Turfcare trailer systems are designed to be portable and will contain the most contemporary machinery for post-season renovation and maintenance work.

Nat West Cricketforce 2009

NatWest CricketForce 2008 attracted a record 1375 clubs (225 up on 2007), 85,000 volunteers (5,000 up on 2007) and an estimated £35-£40 million in cash and kind (an increase of up to £5million on the previous year)

NatWest CricketForce encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.

NatWest CricketForce 2009 will take place on the weekend of April 3, 4 and 5 2009 - and registrations are now live - so take two minutes now to register your club online!

‘Go Green’ Club Fund

The England & Wales Cricket Trust agreed to support a pilot grant aid scheme, which ran in conjunction with NatWest CricketForce 2008.

The ‘Go Green’ Club Fund is open to all ECB affiliated Clubs who registered for, and participated in, NatWest CricketForce in 2008.

The fund is designed to promote the concept of cricket clubs ‘going green’ and to support the UK’s short target to reduce CO2 omissions by 20 per cent by 2010.

All projects must evidence an environmental theme and/or improve energy efficiency.
