The Open Days are for any young cricketers who either live, go to school or play club cricket in Northumberland and would like to be part of our winter training programmes. More importantly it is just a great opportunity to come along and have a hit with other children from around the County.
Each of the days will incorporate fun games and skill sessions, designed to allow our coaches to assess ability levels as well as select those we would like to invite to attend one of our trial days on 30th August (under 10), 31st August (under 12) or 1st September (under 14 girls).
This will be the process by which we will then select players for County / Lions Player pathway winter training programmes.
We will endeavour to continue to provide a high quality programme, however if you have issues with the affordability programme please contact us to discuss spreading the cost. In addition if the cost would preclude your child from attending the programme we will try to offer a subsidised or full scholarship place. All applications for such assistance will be dealt with in the strictest confidence - please contact via email Ian Wardle email@example.com
Q Do I need to be nominated to attend?
A No, we are keen to welcome children who have had some experience of the game but just want to come along and have a go
Q Do I need to attend all dates?
A No, players are welcome to attend any number of dates, simply select any of the date(s) you would like to come along.
Q How do I book multiple dates on the booking system?
A It is straightforward to do, just select your first date and then 'add more' and select a second, third or fourth date.
Q Can I book more than one child?
A Yes you can but please complete a separate booking for each child.
Q Can girls attend too?
A Yes, while there are separate girls sessions, both boys and girls are welcome to attend
Q What happens if I can't make any of the dates?
A If you are unavailable for any of the dates please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide information on the sessions in September.
Q What do I need to bring?
A If you have any cricket kit bring it along, if not don't worry there will be plenty you can use, no need to come in whites, just a tracksuit would be great. As the session lasts most of the day we would recommend bringing a packed lunch.
Q What happens if it rains?
A In the event of poor weather we will endeavour to allocate indoor facilities as backup and will inform parents on the morning of the session, in which case please bring along indoor trainers.
Q Where are the sessions being held?
A Sessions are held at clubmark accredited clubs who have access to quality facilities, you will be sent directions with your booking confirmation.
Q Do I have to stay at the session all day?
A Parents are welcome to stay and watch but we appreciate it is a long day, coaches are experienced and fully qualified, therefore you can leave them with us for the day and come back to collect them at 3pm.
Q What happens after the open days?
A After we have completed all the open days and sessions for those who couldn't make it over the summer holidays we will look to select players for County player pathway programmes. Those who have been selected will be offered a place on the programme, unfortunately those who are not selected will be notified too by email to parents.
Q Who do I contact if I have any more questions?
A For questions about registration contact Julia Stenhouse - email@example.com or for questions about the coaching programme pathway firstname.lastname@example.org
