Girls Cricket

The 2015/2016 curriculum year will be a very memorable one for girl’s cricket in Northumberland. Last year saw girl’s attendances, participation, migration and success rise to new levels that we would have never forecasted.

The impact this has had on clubs has been fantastic. More and more girls are playing at clubs, and representing both their respective junior male and female teams.

Northumberland Cricket Board are a proud partner of Chance to Shine, and our girls programme supports 14 clubs  which are:

Alnmouth & Lesbury Cricket Club Morpeth Cricket Club
Benwell Hill Cricket Club Percy Main Cricket Club
Blagdon Park Cricket Club South Northumberland Cricket Club
Corbridge Cricket Club Tillside Cricket Club
Cramlington Cricket Club Tynemouth Cricket Club

As entry point for girls new to a club environment Northumberland Cricket Board run a yearly under 13 Lady Taverners festivals across the county using a soft ball. This allows girls new to the game to enjoy, access and play competitive cricket.

Summer Open Days

Last year we ran four summer camps for ages under 14 across the county during the school summer holidays, providing girls more opportunities to develop their skills and techniques, as well as an opportunity to enjoy the game further. Each open day was well attended, many of the participants received chance to shine delivery in their school.

Our summer open days for 2017 will be announced soon.
