ECB Safe Hands - Club Welfare Officer Training


If you are a New or Existing Club Welfare Officer the following process will apply:


1 Attend the Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children in Sport Course, unless


a You have already attended the Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children in Sport Course within the last 3 years.  If you need to 

renew this qualification the renewal can now be done online HERE 


OR


b You have a current DBS from another recognised sport, i.e football, rugby, hockey or are employed in such a role as a nurse, police officer 

or teacher then you are not required to attend the Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children in Sport Course.


OR


c You are a coach and have attended the ECB Safeguarding Young Cricketers course.  If you need to renew this qualification contact 

Northumberland Cricket Board HERE


Note - if you have already attended Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children in Sport, ECB Safeguarding Young

Cricketers or are exempt as highlighted in part (b) you are still required to attend ECB Safe Hands as below:


2 Attend the ECB Safe Hands Course, there are two dates to choose from:


Tuesday 13th March - Morpeth Cricket Club, Longhirst, 6:30pm - Book HERE

Wednesday 14th March - Benwell Hill Cricket Club, Newcastle, 6:30pm - Book HERE


3 Complete an enhanced ECB DBS check, an online application will be set up on registration for the ECB Safe Hands course, unless you 

already have a valid ECB DBS check.
